The Social Secretary organises the fantastic socials in and around Durham and provides us with much needed break from studying.

Hi, I’m Kate, I study philosophy and am part of St Mary’s college.

I’ve been in Girlguiding since I was 5 and now my main role is as a Brownie leader.

As much as I love being a leader, I love that DUSAGG gives me the chance to socialise with other Scouts and Guides without the responsibility of keeping tabs on a large group of children! It’s my job as social sec to organise these social events and although things may look a little different this year, I’m determined that as a society we will still be able to do at least some in-person activities (socially distanced of course!) and have a good time!
